“Protecting Youth Mental Health”
In December 2021, the U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory, Protecting Youth Mental Health, was issued to highlight the urgent need to address the mental-health crisis among youth in the United States. As one of the largest providers of mental-health services to children and teens in 130 schools throughout 10 counties and the City of St. Louis, Saint Louis Counseling knows, first-hand, the sense of urgency of the Surgeon General’s Advisory and continues to respond with hope. Through our School Partnership Program (SPP), our therapists provide evidence-based therapy, age-appropriate social-emotional programs, and presentations to school communities that address the mental-health needs and concerns of youth from kindergarten through 12th grade. Our SPP program is based on the philosophy that the school, family, and community are partners in educating our children, strengthening families and building stronger, safer communities.
