When something feels off, it matters
Being a teenager has never been simple. Today, the pressure is constant and difficult to step away from. 42% of high school students report persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness. When something feels off, it is worth paying attention.
Not every teen can explain what they are experiencing. It often shows up in behavior, withdrawal, irritability, or sudden changes that are easy to dismiss. These are signals, not phases.
At Saint Louis Counseling, we work with youth and teens ages 11 to 17 using a structured, developmentally informed approach. We help teens understand what they are experiencing, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Ages 11–17
A space where teens can be real
Adolescence brings pressure from every direction, academics, social dynamics, identity, family expectations, and a constant digital presence. For many teens, it becomes difficult to manage alone.
Our therapists support teens navigating:
- Anxiety and depression
- Self-harm and suicidal ideation
- Bullying and social isolation
- Family conflict and divorce
- Trauma and abuse
- Substance use concerns
We help teens make sense of what they are experiencing, build practical coping skills, and develop the confidence and stability needed to move forward.
For Parents
Your teen may not want to talk to you. That is normal.
Your teen pulling away is not rejection. It is a normal part of development. Many teens need a neutral, trusted adult to open up in a different way, someone outside the family dynamic who can help them process what they are experiencing.
Our therapists create that space while keeping you appropriately informed and involved. The goal is not to replace your role, but to strengthen it and support your relationship with your teen.
