Start 2020 Off Fresh with a Mental Health Check-up

EPISODE #43  January 7th, 2020

Guest: Tom Duff, MSW, LCSW, Executive Director

Happy 2020! Or is it? When was the last time you did a mental health check-up for yourself, taking an honest inventory of how you are doing and feeling? New year’s resolutions so often focus on getting physically fit, which is important. But just as essential as physical health is our mental health. And taking time to examine how we are feeling is a perfect way to start the new year as our best selves.

Executive Director Tom Duff, MSW, LCSW – this week’s most interesting and entertaining guest (think: “know thyself”) and a social worker at heart – offers suggestions on how to conduct a mental health check-up. And because we all have mental health, evaluating it at least once a year not only helps us as individuals, it also helps to create a better community as we better understand ourselves, which in turn helps us to improve our relationships – with ourselves, with our families, with our colleagues, with our neighbors, etc. As Tom states, relationships are the key to everything. Happy New Year! Here’s to a healthier YOU!
